Community gardens are ideal for those without yards or who have small or shaded backyards. It is also a place for people wanting to connect and share with neighbours in a fun community recreational space. The food grown in a community garden may be used for personal use or to donate to local charities.

Evergreen’s Community Gardening History
The Evergreen Community Garden Committee, with support from the Evergreen Community Association, City of Saskatoon and CHEP Good Food Inc., applied for a community garden in Prebble Park on the south end of Sauer Crescent. Around 30 people attended the first meeting on April 20, 2015, regarding Evergreen’s proposed community garden.
An organizational meeting to form the Evergreen Community Garden Collective was held May 7, 2015. The goal of this meeting was to form a core group of people to help with designing, planning and organizing the garden.
The Evergreen Community Garden hosted a potluck lunch and informal meeting about the garden September 12, 2015.
